MERCY TOWNACR It is the last year of the twentieth century. It is a time for the questioning of everything. The political landscapes of the human community are traumatized by unrest in the Middle East. The great economic powers insinuate an impending global systems disaster at midnight, on the final night, as the numbers change. The US public school systems are divided on how and what should be taught about our human origins and the very nature of morality. The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse reports that the use of controlled substances amongst the nation's high school students is at a peak level. It is a derailing time of transition for everyone when three of these students; a naive adult child, a conflicted lyrical genius, and a delinquent percussion savant, will find themselves together at a small university in the middle of the Sunshine State. Mix in a bass playing drug dealer with his own concept of justice and a crooked, middle-age Realtor lacking of remorse and what unfolds is a coming of age story like no other. Triangles of love, lust, greed, and manipulation abound in an environment of social impositions, dire realizations, and sought after escapes. Some will visit Mercy Town and call it a tragedy. Others will call it an awakening. No one can deny that it is real.
